Zil Patel

Zil completed her fourth-year Honours thesis project in the Biochemistry - Biomedical Research Specialization at McMaster University under the Mukherjee Lab. Her project was the SSIMPLE study which assessed the feasibility and validity of using formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) sputum plugs to identify airway eosinophilia in complex airway disease patients. 

She is currently entering the second year of her MSc degree at the University of Ottawa in the Microbiology and Immunology program. Her MSc project also fits right into the field of respiratory medicine, specifically looking at immunodeficiencies in COPD.
