Kanika Tibriwal

Kanika is a third year Health Sciences student at McMaster University. She volunteered in the Mukherjee Lab with the Autoimmunity Post Acute COVID-19 (AIPACS) study. She was awarded the NSERC award for the summer and will be working on Autoimmunity underlying long-term Neurocognitive symptoms post-COVID-19 (AINEC). The project aim is to investigate the impact of autoantibodies formed post-infection, specifically their persistence, and their role in driving ongoing neuroinflammation and neurocognitive dysfunction. Furthermore, the project will explore autoreactivities against neuronal and brain-specific antigens in PACS and their correlation with neurocognitive deficits.

A fun fact about Kanika is that she has a golden retriever named Kody!
